Friday's Fashion Find

Friday, November 30, 2012

I have been looking for the perfect everyday shoe.
I wanted a closed-toe, comfortable, and fashionable shoe.
Today was my favorite thrift store's half off day and I waited in about a 45 person long line to get in.
And it was totally worth it. I spotted these beautiful BCBG boots for only $5!
You will definitely be seeing these in an upcoming post!

Polka Dot Skirt

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Navy Silk Blouse: Thrifted ($4)
Skirt: Forever 21 ($17)
BCBG Pumps: Thrifted ($20)
La Mer Watch: Target

I wore this outfit earlier this month when it was a bit warmer. I adore how feminine the skater skirt is and fell in love with this polka dot version from Forever 21. The soft pink mixed with navy made for a beautiful print. I added a silk navy blouse and nude pumps for a classic outfit.
Let me just tell you about these pumps! If you follow me on instagram (@Francescapenko) you would have seen me post these! I had been looking for nude pumps that went well with my skin tone. Every pair I tried on was too peachy or too pink, it just looked silly on me! I was browsing a thrift store and found these and was overjoyed. Not only were these in my size and brand new, but they only cost $20! It was a very happy day for me!

*Side note: Are there any Bay Area bloggers out there? I would LOVE to check out your blog!
It's fun seeing local bloggers' pages :)

Grey Suede Heels

Monday, November 26, 2012

Knit Sweater: H&M ($5)
Current/Elliott Wax Coated Jeans: Bloomingdales
Michael Kors Heels: Thrifted ($12)
Cuff/Necklace: Forever 21

Did any of you go shopping Friday? I went super late Thursday night with 4 of my sisters. We decided to go to H&M and wait in line for scratch cards. We all love knit sweaters and jewelry so we figured it would be the perfect spot. It totally was! I picked up this sweater for only $5! I adore the sublte sparkles mixed in the chunky knit, it’s going to be perfect for the holiday season.
Sparkly sweaters are my new favorite- they are comfortable but still glam. I also like this sweater from Garage.ca - sparkles and stripes?! Yes please!
I added grey suede Michael Kors heels that I scored at the thrift store last week (only $12!) and another pair of waxed jeans. This was a comfortable yet chic look perfect for any holiday event!

Metallic Heels

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Sweater: Forever 21 ($14)
Scarf: Walmart ($4)
JBrand Wax Coated Jeans: Plato's Closet ($20)
Kelsi Dagger Sandals: Thrifted ($14)
Nixon Watch: Gift

Have you ever had one of those days where the outfit just came together perfectly?
Well, today was one of those days for me.
I wanted to wear this lavender sweater so I planned the outfit around it. Then saw these heels in the back of my closet and thought they matched beautifully. The rest just fell together!
I found these heels at the thrift store in town and was beyond excited. They still had the tags attached and were brand new- score! The metallic silvery/purple is something I wouldn’t normally gravitate to but these are too good! Can’t wait to wear them with different outfits.

DIY Glitter Accent Booties

Dress (worn as blouse): Francesca's Collection
Jeans: Plato's Closet
Necklace: Target

Here is a new take on glittering shoes. I think these will transition into winter beautifully. This was an easy DIY and I already got so many compliments on these sparkly shoes.
I wanted to wear a bright blouse with these boots so I decided to tuck in this cute chevron print dress and wear cuffed skinny jeans to showcase my newly restyled booties.
Thank you Francesca's Collection for collaborating with Restyle.Restore.Rejoice for this great DIY!

Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Little Black Dress

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Catherine Malandrino Dress: Tjmaxx ($30)
BCBG Heels: Tjmaxx
Blazer: H&M
Jeweled Cuff: Target
Clutch: Plato's Closet

I always heard people talk about the importance of having a great “LBD.” When I first heard that statement, I literally googled what a LBD was. Oh, a little black dress! That’s what it means.
I always wanted that perfect little black dress for any occasion but it was difficult to find.
I was browsing dress racks over a year ago with my mom and I found this beautiful black dress. My mom urged me to try on and I figured with holidays, weddings, and special events coming up, it was a must have. I loved the unique cutout back and neckline; it was simple yet sophisticated.  When I was trying it on I discovered it was Catherine Malandrino- SOLD! Especially for the $30 price tag, yes $30. The fit and quality is impeccable. I finally found the perfect little black dress.
I wore this to my cousin's amazing wedding reception. I added strappy pumps- perfect for dancing the night away, a bright blue blazer, and a turquoise jeweled cuff. It was a lovely night!
