This year Marshalls challenged us to shop their stores to help us out with our New Years goals. I was so torn about my goals for the year. Do I do something fashion related? Fitness? Cooking?
Instead I opted to savor the little things in life. Whether it’s lighting a beautifully scented candle, a handwritten note, filling a vase full of fragrant herbs from my backyard, or how chic an all black outfit is-I have truly been enjoying the small things in life
Earlier in my pregnancy, I had received so many comments from people saying to enjoy sleep/showering/and other random things now, because when you have a baby--everything changes! While I totally understand what they’re trying to say, I didn’t want to look at it in a negative way, but instead see it as a new lifestyle! When I was setting my New Years resolution, I wanted to choose something I would actually do! And so far, I have really enjoyed the process. This weekend I savored a few awesome moments- not having to decide between a coffee or ice cream, but instead opting for both, heading into the city with my husband and riding the ferry like we’re tourists and staying the night in a beautiful town called Sausalito and walking everywhere! I truly appreciated each moment. My goal will not change when our little babe arrives, because I will still be savoring the small things in life-they will just be completely new and I cant wait to experience them.

Hope you are all savoring life's little moments.

Little Man

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

All outfits ℅ Marshalls

Nick and I found out we were having a boy at our 14 week ultrasound. We had planned to do a gender reveal with our families because we were told we wouldn't find out the gender until 20 weeks. The moment we went into our appointment and were told that we could find out that day, our plan went completely out the window! That appointment was so so incredible. The difference between our 9 week ultrasound and our 14 week ultrasound was astounding. Once I saw our little man's image flash on the screen, I immediately burst into tears. It was such a beautiful moment. We were even more thrilled when we found out it was a boy. Truthfully, we both didn't care either way- we were just praying for good health and a safe pregnancy. We feel so incredibly blessed!
After our appointment, we went looking at infant clothing and let's just say the girls' clothing is way cuter than the boys! I guess miniature clothing is just cute in general, but girls' tends to be cuter. Marshalls was so sweet enough to send over some outfits for our little guy and when I saw all the cute items, I totally changed my mind about girls having cuter clothes. I mean, look at how adorable that little tuxedo shirt is! Uriah is one lucky dude :)

Winter Layers

Monday, February 10, 2014

Jacket: Plato's Closet ($10)
Shirt & Booties: Target
BDG Jeans: Thrifted
Phillip Lim for Target Bag: Thrifted ($10)
Scarf: H&M

The weather has taken a shift from beautiful sunny skies and warmer afternoons, to equally beautiful dark skies and lots of rain- which is perfect for fuzzy socks, warm coffee (decaf for me!), and lots of layers. I wore pieces from this outfit all week long, especially this leather jacket that I got from Plato's Closet. I love that it just gets softer and softer each time I wear it and was still super inexpensive. Also, I scored this Phillip Lim for Target bag on a recent thrift store trip, which I will include in my next haul! I was so surprised to see that it was not only brand new, but only $10!

Don't forget to enter to win a $25 gift card to PinkBlush Maternity here. Giveaway ends on Wednesday, so there is still plenty of time to enter and lots of opportunity for extra entries!

Hope you all are doing well and thank you so much for reading!

Valentine's Day Look

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

Lace Dress: ℅ PinkBlush Maternity (available here)
Necklace: Flea Market (only $11!)
Heels: Steve Madden
Vintage Clutch

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I decided to put an outfit together that it perfect for a night out. Being 27 weeks pregnant, dressing up can be a bit of a challenge because sometimes maternity clothing isn't exactly our style or price point. But thankfully, companies like PinkBlush Maternity exist. They offer cute AND affordable maternity clothing. Score!
PinkBlush Maternity was kind enough to send me this maternity dress and I thought it would be excellent for Valentine's Day or any night out! I loved the vibrancy of this bright red dress and the all-over lace detailing. It is beyond comfortable and I felt so glam wearing it. The hemline is a bit longer than most of my dresses, but I think that's just one of the many things that makes this dress chic. I was having a hard time deciding between a belt and a necklace, but decided last minute that you can never go wrong with a statement necklace- especially when it's a beautiful rainbow one.
If you are an expecting mamma and looking for something cute to wear this Valentine's Day- you are in luck! PinkBlush Maternity is so sweet and offering one lucky reader $25 to spend in their shop. They carry such trendy maternity clothes and it's all at such an affordable price, so you will be sure to find something lovely.

You can pick any item below to enter.
Extra entries for each item. Leave a comment saying you did so!
