39 Weeks

Friday, April 25, 2014

Today marks 39 weeks in my pregnancy.
I can't believe our little man's due date is next week!

Sidenote- I was convinced I would get stretch marks, which I was totally ok with! I knew that you can buy fancy creams and oils, but genetics plays a large part also. I used Bio Oil for about a month and a half and then didn't want to repurchase is because it was on the more expensive side. So while shopping at Grocery Outlet, I discovered this huge jar of cocoa butter cream for $4.99. Let me tell you, it is very potent and you smell like a cocoa puff after you put it on- BUT- I have zero stretch marks! I know there are some readers who are expecting and figured I had to share this little tidbit. I applied it after my shower in the morning and right before bed. It's very oily, so I would just wear a camisole under blouses during the day to protect my shirt.
I always laughed at those commercials but now I'm a cocoa butter lover!

During my pregnancy, I have seen my body completely change. I've always been the same size and often refer to my body as being similar to a 12 year old boy. Now that I'm pushing 38 weeks, it's getting harder and harder to dress up and feel confident. And in my opinion, I feel like now, more than ever, it's important to feel confident. I love being pregnant and everything that comes with it, but can a girl get a chic outfit that isn't the typical maternity scrunched top and leggings?!
Thanks to Marshalls, I've been able to stay chic and confident throughout my entire pregnancy! With countless affordable designer-options, always in various sizes and fits, I'm able to dress this bump and have a blast doing it. Plus, how cute is this top?! With it's breezy fabric, beautiful print, and impeccable fit - this Sanctuary blouse will be on serious repeat this summer. And it only cost $34.99!
Some outfits really give you an extra boost and this outfit is no exception.
 No compromising, just confidence!

Dress-Target ($20!)
Via Spiga Heels- Savers
Leather Jacket- Thrifted

Yesterday I had my 38 week appointment. Wow! I posted on my instagram that soon I will have a little babe instead of my bump. I will miss dressing this bump, but I will love love LOVE having Uriah! Now that my due date is in 9 days (holy moly!), dresses have become my lifesaver. They're so comfortable and chic. Plus, with my frequent trips to the bathroom to pee (tmi), it's way easier than squeezing back into jeans.
I was browsing my local Target, looking for items for my hospital bag, when I spotted this beautiful dress hanging on a rack. It's not maternity, but it's made of the stretchiest material, making it perfect for my 8 1/2 month belly. It was under $25 and they had coupons at the register which gave me $5 off! These heels were also a steal. I've been wanting lace up heels for quite sometime, but they're either not the style I wanted or out of my budget. These are made of the softest metallic leather and were only $12.99 at a local Thrift Store (Savers!). With my 20% coupon, I left spending around $10.50 on them.
I'm working on a Thrift Store list for all you Bay Area gals. Stay posted for my favorites :)

Kaleidoscope Dress: Thrifted ($8)
Steve Madden Heels: Thrifted ($10)
Oia Jules Necklace: ℅ 9th and Elm

I wore this floral dress for one of my baby showers; what I loved about this dress was the higher neckline and kaleidoscope print paired with the black accents. It's such a vibrant dress that could be paired with simple accessories and still make a statement. I also love that it was only $8 from the thrift store! I was thinking of creating a list of my favorite thrift stores from the area I live in and featuring some of my finds from each one. Let me know if you're interested in that!

Eyelet Dress

Eyelet Dress: Thrifted
Big Star Jacket: Thrifted
Sandals: Forever 21 (online here)

I had been itching to wear this eyelet dress since I got it. When the temperatures reached the high 70's, I knew it would be the perfect outfit for a sunny day. Eyelet dresses just scream spring to me and I do love a good white dress. And how amazing are these sandals I'm wearing?!  I ordered them from Forever 21 and after them shipping me the wrong shoes, then the wrong size, I finally got my hands on them almost a month later. And I must say, they were totally worth the wait! The heel isn't too tall, so I can wear them with shorts and a slouchy t-shirt later this summer for a relaxed look.

Here's some more budget-friendly eyelet dresses that are perfect for spring:

Metallic Oxfords

Tank- Target
Oxfords- Thrifted ($8) (currently on sale at Target)
BLANK Leather Pants- ℅ Marshalls
Blazer- ℅ Marshalls

I found these metallic oxfords at the thrift store recently and decided I wanted to wear them so badly, I just built my entire outfit around these beauties. They're so comfy and now that it's only one month till my due date, these flat shoes are like walking on clouds. I love the laser cut accents on the side- perfect for warmer summer months! I can't wait to pair these with a lace mini or some distressed denim.
This blazer was another recent find. I love the subtle grey stripes and the fit of the blazer. It's such amazing quality, while still being budget friendly. Thank you, Marshalls!

Hope you all are enjoying your week!
