Rebecca Minkoff Clutch - Plato's Closet

I've been spending this past week enjoying every.single.moment of this Christmas season. It's been such a great month and looking back at this past year, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude from the incredible, abundant blessing in my life during 2014. What a year!
I'm so thankful for all my readers who have turned into friends. I'm thankful for all of you, who click over to my blog to check out my outfit posts and ramblings. I'm thankful for the support I've received over the years and all the love. You gals ROCK!

And as for my outfit, if I wear it for a week straight would you judge me?!
I'm obsessed with it and I'm itching for another opportunity to wear it. I wore it to a Christmas party this past weekend and surprised Nick that I didn't leave a huge pile of clothes from trying on multiple outfits. First try, baby! I bought this shirt..are you ready for it..over 8 years ago! I layered it over a nude cami and loved the look of it with this wax coated skirt.
A little edgy, a little feminine, and perfect for hiding the fact that I ate 8 cookies!

Enjoy your holiday!

Calvin Klein Scarf - c/o Marshalls
Studded Clutch - c/o Marshalls
Jeffrey Campbell Heels - c/o Marshalls
Blank NYC Leather Pants - c/o Marshalls
Pendelton Coat - Thrifted

This is part two of my secret santa gifting with Marshalls.
I was so excited to find out who was my secret santa and what they picked out for me. Dina, who blogs over at Sweetest Somethings picked out some lovely items and I couldn't wait to share them. Once I saw the FedEx truck pull up, I knew it was for me! I eagerly opened my package and immediately loved the items. I'm wearing the leopard scarf and studded clutch she picked out. I'm a huge fan of leopard, so I was excited to see one of my favorite prints in such a pretty scarf! It's a light-weight scarf that's made with an ombre fabric and has a subtle leopard print throughout the scarf. And this studded clutch is amazing! It converts into a crossbody, making it perfect for when I'm on the go. The bright cobalt really pops against my monotone outfit and the gold studs add a little metallic sparkle. I can't wait to pair it with some brighter pieces later this season.

BIG thank you to Marshalls for putting together such an awesome project! And Dina, thank you again for choosing such amazing items for me- I love them all!

Thank you for reading!

#BestGiftEver

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

Shopping for the holidays has always been a favorite of mine. I've mentioned before that my outward love language is gift giving, so it makes sense! But the crazy stores, long lines, and hefty price tags take the fun out of gift giving and at times, put a damper on the holiday spirit. I've partnered with Marshalls, TJMaxx, and Homegoods to bring you this (affordable) holiday gift guide. Thanks to these three stores, you can get all your shopping done in one place; from stocking stuffers to holiday decor and wrapping essentials- they have you covered! I shopped for my husband, son, and mother-in-law looking for the #bestgiftever. There were so many amazing gift options to choose from- Beats by Dre headphones, KitchenAid mixers, Rebecca Minkoff bags, even a mini piano by Melissa & Doug...all at an affordable price! I got all my shopping done and even had a bit left over for a designer sweater!

Thank you for watching my gift guide.
Hopefully it brings a little gifting inspiration and maybe a few ideas for your loved ones.

Heavy Metal

Hat - Target
Joie Cowl Neck & Chain Bag - c/o Marshalls
Denim - c/o American Eagle
Sam Edelman Booties - Marshalls

Remember when I mentioned I bought the same sweater as the one I got my secret santa?!
You know, the Joie one that was super soft and an amazing deal?
Well I'm in love with it. One of my favorite purchases ever!
The weather has been super rainy, bringing such a cozy start to my December. And in my opinion, there's nothing cozier than an incredible soft, oversized sweater. I can lounge all day in it, sleep in it, and go to the store (while looking somewhat presentable) in it!
I have a ton of sweaters, so when I'm shopping for new ones, I gravitate towards different fits or unique details. This Joie sweater had a beautiful cowl neck- something none of my other sweaters have! I had been pinning a million different cowl neck sweaters, but never made the plunge to buy one! As I mentioned in my previous post,  I happened to find this one at Marshalls for $49.00 (compare to the original price of $220- yikes!) - it was well worth the wait!
I added a heavy metal clutch/crossbody that I scored for only $20. I saw it on the rack and had to have it. It's amazing quality and perfectly fits all my necessities.
It added the perfect amount of edginess to a fairly simple outfit.

Holiday Gift Giving

Saturday, December 6, 2014

I know what you're thinking -- not another gift guide!
I'm actually talking about a Secret Santa gift exchange I was a part of. I don't know about you, but I LOVE secret santas and by love, I mean I am obsessed with them! We would do them when I was in school and sometimes my family would do them around the holidays. I think one of my outward love languages is gift giving, so I thoroughly enjoy thinking of the other person and shopping for them.

When Marshalls set up a Secret Santa with the other Project Fab bloggers, I couldn't wait to get started. I actually met this girl when I was in Boston, so I had an idea of what I wanted to get her. Not only is she super chic and fun, but she is also a mom, so I wanted to make sure I got her a versatile piece that she could wear at home with her daughter or dressed up for datenight.

From decor items for your home to the perfect beaded clutch for a holiday outfit -the possibilities for gift giving at Marshalls are endless! Which made it even more of a fun challenge to pick out the #bestgiftever. Do I get her a designer clutch? A fur vest? A fancy cake plate? All three?
While browsing the racks, I noticed an incredible cowl neck sweater by Joie. It was in a pretty tan color and had a great slouchy fit- perfect length to wear with leggings or some cute distressed denim. I knew it was totally her! And it was only $49 compare at a whopping $220. I will admit that I loved it so much-- I bought the same one for myself! Oops. I picked up some pretty gift essentials on my way out- gift wrap, festive cards, and bows. One stop shop! I plan on doing all my Christmas shopping at Marshalls this year because I can shop for everyone on my list and stay within budget.

I know many of you are wondering about the winner of the giveaway..
Thank you to everyone who entered! Congrats, Ly! If you can email me your info, I'll send you your gift card so you can score some holiday goodies!
.

Earlier in the week Uriah received a little gift from Marshalls and it was probably the sweetest thing ever. Nick is a fire fighter and they got him a truck to be "just like daddy"
I know he will love the little truck, but his favorite part was the wrapping paper and trying to eat the box. I think I'll just wrap a bunch of empty boxes for him this Christmas. Hah! Sounds horrible, but he would probably love it.
